INWOOD — Just in time for the NBA playoffs, uptowners have a new place to catch the big game.
Uptown Social, a new Inwood sports bar and gastropub with 15 high-definition TVs, opened its doors at 186 Dyckman St. last week.
The sports bar aims to be the place for sports nuts, featuring a matrix of nine televisions behind the bar that can be combined to create a Voltron of sports screens.
Bar owners Alex Ramos and Yamil Martinez said that they have long wanted to open a sports bar in Inwood.
“I just wanted to bring something new to the neighborhood,” said Ramos, 31, who grew up on 172nd Street in Washington Heights.
